Yes I do have a California Cosmetology and Barbering License. A lot of people call themselves experts in hair extensions in the San Francisco Bay Area
and do not have a Cosmetology License. This is due to a section of the law (Under section 7316 of the California Cosmetology and Barbering Regulations,
extension specialists are not required to have a license if the specialist does not cut or color hair client’s hair. They have not been trained to analyze,
manage and advise you about your real hair or properly cut and style your hair.
Reputable companies that train and certify Extension Specialists requires each hairstylist to have a license.
As a cosmetologist I know how attached my clients are to me. So if you love your hairstylist stay with them. I have a large number of clients that I only
do their hair extensions. You can even have your hairstylist call me if they have any questions about your hair.
Clients are looking for subtlety and undetectable hair extensions. To accomplish this I am trained in 10 different hair extensions methods. The fullness of
each person hair is different so based on this I advise clients which techniques will blend the extensions with their hair. Anyone who has ever met you will
not be able to tell that the extensions aren’t your very own hair. Ninety nine per cent of people will not be able to tell. In some instances your bonds or
tracks may show if heavy wind blows or hair is not styled properly.
Each technique and person has a different length of time period before the process has to be renewed or touchup. During the consultation process one of the
question that I ask clients is “are you doing this for a short period of time or will you continuously wear extensions?” Regularly all on glue hair extensions
last about 2 to 6 months. A regular maintenance appointment of 1 visit a month ensures your hair extensions look natural and in excellent condition.
Yes I can match your current hair color. Hair extensions come in solid and blended colors of highlight and lowlight. I also do custom hair coloring for the
extensions if we are using virgin hair. For some clients the crown of their hair will not have extensions in it, therefore your colorist can still highlight
and color your hair by going around the extensions. Extensions are also a great way to get extreme color without chemically processing your hair.
Because I use human hair, your hair will look great wet. The point of attachment may show because the hair is wet. Putting your hair in a ponytail will minimize
bonds or tracks showing. You can wash and style your extensions exactly as you would your own hair. However, daily washing or conditioning may loosen fusion
extensions and affect the hair. If you swim consistently, I recommend you wear a swim cap.
Yes, you can use styling tools on your human hair extensions. It is important to keep high heat away from your fusion bonds because it will be weakened.
Heat has little effect on Micro links lock extensions. Heat has no effect on wefted hair methods so thoroughly dry your hair especially if you use a
braiding hair method. Use a large comb or soft bristle brush starting from the tips to the head.
The length of time it takes for hair extensions depends on the techniques that are being used. The average time is 1 hour to 4 hours for a full head of extension.
You can use your regular shampoo on your hair extensions. You must be careful not to use shampoos with alcohol content, this causes dryness of the hair
extensions. Conditioners with an oil base may increase slippage of fusion bonds. I recommend Puroleogy and on African American hair, I like Mizani products.
We also carry special extensions shampoo and condition formulated for hair extensions.
I have ten different methods of attaching extensions to your natural hair. Extensions either come with their own pre-made bonded hair strands, or I create
the bonding for custom blending. I also use heating tools, or ultra sound to attach the hair to your hair. Using your fingers to roll the bond and provide a
strong attachment to the natural hair. As the bonds cools it locks your hair it ensures the natural hair is safe from damage. In the ultra sound process, no
heat is used to bond your natural hair to the extensions. Sound waves melt the bonds using cold fusion.
The Hair Extensions are easily removed from the natural hair using our specially formulated bond remover and instrument, leaving the hair undamaged.
- Do not shampoo hair for 2 days after applying
extensions
- When going to bed, it is recommended that the
hair be pulled back with a sort spongee to keep the hair from
getting tangled and to avoid pulling on the hair.
- Brush or bomb using only one of our extension
bushes or a soft paddle brush and combs. Use gentle strokes to
prevent damage to the bonds. Never pull on the bond.
- Do not use oil base or silicon based products
on hair. As these may weaken the bond.
- Do not use products on that contain Sulfur,
such as dandruff shampoos.
- Use only our special brush or a soft paddle
brush. Use your regular shampoo and Conditioner make sure you
read the label for the product content above. These ingredients
will weaken the bonds.
- I like Puroleogy. On African American hair, I
like Mizani products. Because I use so many different
techniques, I will go over which products will help you maintain
your extensions.
- When Shampooing and drying use gentle
strokes. Do not use a scrubbing motion. Make sure you completely
dry the hair in and around the bonds with a cool blowdryer. Do
not go to bed with your hair damp.
- Shampoo hair as indicated above as soon as
possible after swimming. Then rinse with hair cleansing ph
Balancing formula and towel dry and blow dry thoroughly making
sure bonds are completely fee of moisture.
Note : Do not let the bonds remain wet for long periods of time.
- Shampoo hair leaning your head backwards or
forward. This prevents tangling of the bonds.
- Make sure to keep maintenance appointment in
3 to 4 weeks time to check extensions and replace any extensions
if necessary.
Absolutely not. Not all clients who want extensions can get it. Some clients may benefit from an integration system or full lace wig. I analyzed my client’s
hair and inform then on which techniques might be the best for their goals. If a client has a situation where I can not assist them, I do inform the client that
I can not help them. Furthermore, clients who are unsure about getting the extensions, wigs, custom wigs or integration systems, I recommend clients continue to
do research. I love what I do professionally and I want my clients to be happy. So if I feel that I cannot reach a client’s expectations and needs I do decline.
The following steps are taken for hair extensions, custom wigs and integration wigs.
I do initial consultation in person, by phone or email. The standard questions are what length, texture and color is your hair and what do you what your hair to look like.
I do meet with clients to match color and texture, take a deposit for the hair and set your appointment date (Hair deposits are non-refundable and a credit card is needed to set an appointment.
In some cases, I do travel to clients there is a $65/hr drive time fee. Each client retouch process is different because each client’s hair takes to the process differently. Typically once a month depending on the technique used for an hour - $65 minimum .
Your hair needs to be at least a few inches long to cover the extensions, in order for you to get extensions. Depending on the fullness of your hair and
texture I will advise you if you should wait for your hair to grow a few more inches. With short hair it is recommended that you keep your extensions short
to layer your hair for greater blending.
My primary concern is for the client’s natural hair. I am trained and certified as a hair extension specialist and trainer. In addition
I am also a licensed hair stylist.
This is why I have so many different options for my clients. In order to not have damage or breakage, the
extensions must be carefully cared for by you and keeping your maintenance appointments is critical. The methods I offer are the least
damaging and most innovative on the market. I use specially formulated products and tools in the removal process hair extensions.
I value my clients and want them to be happy with their new hair venture. If a problem comes up with in the first two weeks of application I work
with my clients to correct it. However every client hair and scalp is different, some scalp produces a lot of oil which weakens the stand by stand
bonds. With your monthly visit your extensions will be checked and corrected if I see any problems to extend the extensions longevity.
